Kodiak Harbor Lights Boat Parade

Kodiak Harbor Lights Boat Parade
6:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024
St. Paul and St. Herman Harbors, and KANA Marketplace
Sponsored by Kodiak Maritime Museum

The 2024 Harbor Lights Boat Parade begins at 6 p.m. Saturday December 14. Sponsored by the Kodiak Maritime Museum, participating vessels will rendezvous one mile north of the Near Island Bridge, proceed though the Near Island Channel and disburse in St. Paul Harbor between Uski Island and Pier II. Vessels should stand by on VHF Channel 69 for the duration of the parade.
Participating vessels are advised to keep clear of the ferry Tustumena, which will be departing Kodiak to the north at 5:15 p.m. December 14. The Tustumena should be well clear of the parade route by 5:40 p.m. The Kodiak Fire Marshal advises parade vessels to refrain from discharging fireworks in the channel and harbor to prevent mishaps involving the fuel docks and moored vessels.
Should inclement weather make a parade unsafe, decorated boats are advised to remain in their harbor stalls, allowing for the public to view them from the harbor floats. Notice of a parade cancellation will be via Channel 69 and social media.
KMM also encourages the community to gather at the KANA Marketplace on Center St. from 5 to 9 p.m. for free cookies and hot drinks provided by Kodiak Maritime Museum.
