Invasive Crayfish in the Buskin River...
Description
The Alutiiq Museum is hosting a fall lecture series featuring local researchers. Our second lecture is hosted by Sun'aq Tribe of Kodiak Tribal Biologist Daniel Smith.
An Invasive crayfish population has gained a claw hold in the Buskin Watershed. This presentation will discuss the basic biology and behavior of the signal crayfish. Smith will discuss his research on the potential impacts of crayfish on Kodiak’s salmon and subsistence fishery, and how the public can assist us with crayfish eradication efforts.
Join us for this free public presentation in the museum’s gallery. Open to all. Supported by the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill Trustee Council.
