Archaeology of Bruhn Point & Salonie ...
Description
The Alutiiq Museum is hosting a fall lecture series featuring local researchers. Our first lecture is hosted by museum archaeologists Molly Odell and Patrick Saltonstall.
Five thousand years ago, Alutiiq hunters watched for seals at the head of Womens Bay. Alutiiq Museum archaeologists have been studying their campsites. Scattered along the shore of an ancient lagoon, hunters sat around small fires and ground pieces of slate into sharp-edge lances. Learn about these finds and see examples of the artifacts.
Join us for this free public presentation in the museum’s gallery. Open to all. Supported by the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill Trustee Council.
