Description
Due to COVID-related health concerns around the state, Alaska Sea Grant will hold the December 2021 Alaska Young Fishermen’s Summit online with a reduced agenda and registration cost.
AYFS is designed to provide training, information and networking opportunities for commercial fishermen early in their careers. We understand the value of bringing young fishermen together face-to-face and remain committed to our ongoing work to “weave a network of future fishing leaders.” Offering AYFS online in 2021 is a temporary solution to extraordinary circumstances. Alaska Sea Grant remains committed to providing the best possible educational and networking opportunities.
The online event will focus on building capacity in the Alaska commercial fishing industry through four evenings of online training. The program will feature industry leaders providing insights on fishing business management, the fisheries management process, and the future of Alaska seafood in a changing environment.
The event will take place evenings from December 6–9.
