DESCRIPTION:KMXT's Run the Rock is a family-friendly event featuring a marathon\, half marathon\, 10k\, and 5k held in early October each year. Race day headquarters are at Bear Valley Golf Course. \n\n \n\nKMXT's Run the Rock is a family-friendly event featuring a marathon\, half marathon\, 10k\, and 5k. This year\, there are two ways to participate: at the in-person race on October 9\, 2021\, or in the virtual races run anytime from October 9-11\, 2021. If we have an outbreak of COVID-19\, all races will be switched to the virtual option. \n\n \n\nIN-PERSON RACES (October 9\, 2021)\n\nThe marathon starts on Near Island\, goes across the bridge\, through town and out to the golf course then joins the half marathon and 10k courses which go through the scenic Buskin Lake valley\, up and over the pass\, down to Anton Larsen Bay\, and back to the Bear Valley Golf Course. Part of the marathon course is on a paved road\, part on a gravel road. All of the half and 10k are on gravel road courses. \n\nThere are water stops along the way (approximately every two miles).\n\nThe 5k is a flat roadway course that starts and finishes at Bear Valley Golf Course.\n\n \n\nVIRTUAL RACES (October 9-11\, 2021)\n\nParticipants can also choose to run the races on their own time between October 9th and October 11th. In the case of the virtual race\, runners designate their own course and race day - uploading their results when done. \n\n\n\nPACKET PICKUP\n\nRace Bibs and t-shirts must be picked up on Wednesday\, October 6th from Noon to 7:00 PM and on Friday\, October 8th from 9 AM to 6:00 PM at 620 Egan Way.\n\n \n\nRACE DAY\n\n8:00 AM Marathon start on Near Island\, near the entrance to Rotary Park\n\n10:00 AM Half Marathon and 10k start at Bear Valley Golf Course\n\n12:00 PM 5k start at Bear Valley Golf Course\n\n\nRegister for the race and find out more!
